Z is for Zarf

When I stop to buy my coffee
I order it hot black and strong
And when I hold it in my hand
It begins to burn before too long

In the Middle East they found
A new way to hold the hot cup
An invention had been produced
So you could drink it up

They were made from metal
Ornamental in every case
Very practical they proved to be
They helped satisfy your taste

You have seen them in use
When a coffee you did buy
They wrap around your cup
so your fingers do not fry

What is this I speak of?
What name is it named?
Well it is known as a zarf
The hot cup had been tamed

Let me ask you to tell the truth
Before today did you really know?
That they were called a zarf?
Use a zarf with coffee on the go.

That is a cool word. I had no idea! Best wishes. I'm glad to have found you. In case you're interested, my final post for the challenge at http://darlamsands.blogspot.com is about zinnias. I am number 1157 on the list now and can’t believe the month is nearly over.

Hello there.
This is the second time I have come across this word. Another blogger used it for their letter Z too.
Congratulations on surviving the A-Z Challenge! I'm popping over today from the Road Trip. My goal is to visit all the blogs that linked up, before next year's challenge starts up again.
