What More Could You Want?

My grace is sufficient for you’ 2 Cor. 12:9. These words should be engraven on the palm of every believer’s hand. My grace…My love is enough for you. These are the words of Christ. He says, to those who seek deliverance from pain and sorrow, ‘It is enough that I love you.’ This secures and implies all other good. His favor is life; his loving kindness is better than life.

So True, Gregg,

A couple of days ago at work I was complaining in my spirit about being tired and my thoughts went something like (Oh God please help me, oh I'm so tired, oh my back aches, I wish I were done for the day, and on and on) and it dragged me down more and more and I thought I was just about at nervous collapse when my next patient said these very same words over and over very loudly. At first it irritated me, then I felt very sympathetic, although it still was irritating...and then I realized, that is what my thoughts and often prayers, sound like in God's ears! I had to chuckle...and the rest of my day was much lighter. The Lord surely does give us exactly what we need, moment by moment. :)

Sorry... my computer is doing something weird, put comment 3 times...

I forgot to add that my husband (what a dear) reminded me that the Lord isn't like I am, and is not irritated in the same way we are. He is truly compassionate and loving.

When He tells us that we need to be content, it is for our own wellbeing that He cautions us in this way, as I could perceive from my lack of contentment and where it was sending me while wallowing in it.

I think that grace is at the heart of being content. Encourages me to think that Paul was content even with the thorny afflictions of a messenger of Satan.
