Saturday with Spurgeon #018

"Beloved, you must know the bitterness of sin before you can know the blessedness of forgiveness! And you must have such a sight of sin as shall break your heart before you can understand the blessedness of the Divine covering, that sacred cover which hides sin effectually, blots it out, and even makes it cease to be. 'Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.'" (Psalms 32:1)

Hi Gregg...I have been reading through your blog again, and am blessed by your variety of truths and encouragments.

I agree with Spurgeon...my favorite pastor/teacher...we have to understand our sin before we can appreciate being forgiven! I have been so sorrowful over past sins, until I realized that it is good to go to my LORD and know that He was not surprised by my sins and struggles, and that He loved me all through it, and it is because of His love that I was able to ask forgiveness, and see that it was a sin. He is good at all times, and in all circumstances! ♥
