The Glorious Fellowship of Communion

John Owen on the fact that the saints of God have communion with God. Taken from his book, Communion with God, in the Puritan Paperbacks, published by The Banner of Truth Trust, Edinburgh, UK.

"Our communion with God lies in his giving to us and our giving ourselves and all that he requires to him. This communion with God flows from that union which is in Christ Jesus. This communion will be perfect and complete when we enter into the full enjoyment of Christ's glory. Then we shall totally give ourselves up to him, rest in him as the utmost fulfilment of all our desires...I pray that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has, by the riches of his grace, brought us from a state of enmity into this glorious fellowship and excellence in this communion as to be stirred up to a greater longing for that eternal enjoyment of him in eternal glory."

--John Owen, (1618-1683)

30 Days of Thanksgiving

I am thankful that God, through His Holy Spirit, and at our conversion has given to each believer a grace gift which we are privileged to use for the edification and encouragement of the body of Christ! Thank you God that I am privilege and allowed to be a part of your plan to enrich your local body while it is here on earth.

Most interesting to read Gregg, I was confirmed when I was about 12, as was my brother.

Have a good day.
