What One Book Would You Read?

John Newton, the author of Amazing Grace, Pastor, and former slave trader, stated, "If I might read only one book beside the Bible, I would choose The Christian in Complete Armour." (William Gurnall)

I am curious, if you had to choose just one book that you could read, beside the Bible, what book would it be and why?

John said...: Possibly Studies in the Sermon on the Mount by Martyn Lloyd-Jones. I've benefitted more from my reading in that book than any other, and I can read it over and over.; November 24, 2009 at 2:34 AM
Persis said...: I would have a hard time choosing. There are so many books that I would love to read that I don't have the time for right now. If I had to pick one out of the ones I have already read, I think it would be Holiness by J.C. Ryle.; November 24, 2009 at 5:52 AM
