One of my goals for this blog is "To expose my readers to a variety of spiritually beneficial topics, books, articles, thoughts, and people." Periodically I want to expose you to people, pastors, and authors whom I believe will be a great benefit and blessing to you.
Today I would like to introduce to you a good friend of mine and fellow Pastor, Josh Litton. Josh is currently the Pastor of Creekside Baptist Church in Scappoose, Oregon. However, the reason I want you to meet Josh is that you might become a friend and supporter of him, either, financially, prayerfully, or in sweet Christian fellowship.
Josh is winding down his ministry at Creekside in order to follow God's leading to plant a new church and disciple people in Chicago, IL. Yes, I know that is borderline certifiable crazy, but so was God slaying His own Son in order to redeem my soul from the bondage of sin.
Josh and his new bride Erin will be moving to Chicago in September. He is new to blogging and I want to ask you to hop over to his blog, Josh Litton Blog and become a follower and leave a comment. Josh says the purpose of his blog is "Josh Litton Blog exists in order to be as useful for Jesus Christ as possible to the world and to the church. I'd like to hear from you at littino@gmail.com."
Josh also has an organization called Christ for Chicago. Check out the website at ChristforChicago.org. You can become a part of this venture and receive regular updates and prayer requests all the while laying up treasures in heaven - without ever leaving your living room, or den, or office, or kitchen table, or where ever your computer is.
Mark Twain once said, ""It is hopeless for the occasional visitor to try to keep up with Chicago. She outgrows her prophecies faster than she can make them."( - Mark Twain, 1883) Let's pray for this couple as they head east to "The Windy City" and for the church that they trust the Holy Spirit will give birth to for the glory of God.

Josh sounds a wonderful person, I wish him well in Chicargo, must be quite an upheavel to move like that.
Enjoy your week-end.
Yvonne.
Thanks for the recommendation - I may just follow him.
God bless!
What a big heart you have. Storing up treasures in heaven without leaving your living room...hmmm...it doesn't get any easier than that! ;-)
I'll have to hop over there! Blessings!
Thanks for the introduction. I went over to their site. They are ambitious in their ministery! I'll be praying for them. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday! ☺
Gregg: Thanks for the advertisement! I appreciate you taking the time to do this. It is a real blessing for us.
To everyone else: Thanks for your support and interest in my blog and in our ministry. We hope that Christ for Chicago will be used to lift up your thoughts about God so that He occupies the highest, best place in all your emotions, ambitions, thoughts, ideas, and everything you do.
May God bless you all with peace through His Son, Jesus.
p.s. Yes, going to Chicago is somewhat crazy, but it's suicide to disobey God!
