I Don't Wanna Play Church

Today I sat alone in the pews
And I watched people come inside and sit
To wait for the morning service to begin
But then I saw some folks throw a big fit

So I waited to see if they would calm down
I hoped they remembered where they were
Cause they are the pillars in our little church
The fact that they were watched to them did not occur

Chorus:

I don’t wanna play church; I know it can’t be right
I’ve watched family and friends
And it seems an awful sight
I don’t wanna play church; It grieves the Holy Spirit
Cause when we play church
The Power of God’s not in it

I don’t wanna play church; I know it can’t be right
I’ve watched family and friends
And it seems an awful sight
I don’t wanna play church; It grieves the Holy Spirit
Cause when we play church
The Power of God’s not in it

(Sad little parody of Tammy Wynette's, I Don't Wanna Play House)
