Prayer in place of Bacon

Monday's Quote:
"0h brother, pray; in spite of Satan, pray; spend hours in prayer; rather neglect friends than not pray; rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper - and sleep too - than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest. The Lord is near. He comes softly while the virgins slumber." Andrew A. Bonar

Mr. Andrew A. Bonar is right on!

Now if I could only give up sleep, breakfast, lunch and dinner and "DO" what he suggest.

He often shows himself when we least expect it. So we need to stay vigilant, awake, and sover. Have a great holiday!

"we must not talk about prayer"

Absolutely! I did find it odd that Mr Bonar talked about prayer in this quote. :)

Amen. As Christ said, we ought always to pray, and never faint in doing so.

I seem to have it backwards. "pray; in spite of Satan, pray..." I'm glad he took a break from prayer to remind us to pray. Is it just me, or is prayer one of the hardest things to do? I really needed this reminder!
