Beaufort, SC

B is for Beaufort, South Carolina

My theme is places I have visited or lived

I was stationed here April 1974 to October 1975 in VMA 311

We lived in the community of Beaufort while stationed here.

Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort or MCAS Beaufort is a United States Marine Corps air base located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district of Beaufort, a city in Beaufort CountySouth CarolinaUnited States. About 4,700 personnel serve at the station, and it is home to six Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet fighter-attack squadrons.

Beaufort is a city in and the county seat of Beaufort County, South Carolina, United States. Chartered in 1711, it is the second-oldest city in South Carolina, behind Charleston. The city's population was 12,361 in the 2010 census.

Another great one Gregg. Did not know the Marines were in SC. I spent US Army boot camp at Fort Jackson, SC in 1968. I will probably write that about in the coming days. Hmmm. Should it be under F or J? ツ

I've played Beaufort a few times when I was touring. Never spent much time there but it seemed like kind of a nice place.

Glad to see you A to Z-ing again with us. I like this topic.
