I Am Curious...

The other day I happened to read comments by someone who had shared some love about their church body. It was obvious that they truly loved their fellowship. I am in the process of refining a mission statement for the church I desire to plant. These two things got me to thinking - which can be dangerous! It led me to be curious about your home church.


So, today I would like to ask four questions:

  • What is the name of your church?
  • How long have you been there?
  • What is the mission statement of your church? 
  • What attribute or quality does your church exhibit most?

    Our Church is called Grace, I don't know what the mission statement is. We've been there a little over two years.

    I would say the quality our church exhibits the most from what I can see is a family atmosphere. There is a strong emphasis on service and missions.

    The name of my church is Grace Baptist Chapel. We've been there for a little more than 3 years. As far as a statement of faith, we hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession. The strongest quality is Biblical, doctrinally sound expository preaching. Perhaps equal to that is the love and care for one another.

    My church is "Higher Calling Community Church"...mission is to Never settle for less than God's best in your life. And being in the community, bridging gaps and introducing an intimate relationship with our Lord, our Savior.

    Our church is Westminster Presbyterian Church. We have attended since December 2009. I had to go to our website to see if we had a mission. No mission but "Our goal is to be true to the inerrant Word of God, the Reformed Faith of the Scriptures and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ!"

    What drew us to this church is that it is family integrated, conservative, and probably 99.9% of the church home educates.

    Gregg,

    Since you know my church very well, I'm going to sidestep most of your questions - in fact, you probably know my church better than I do. But I will say that LWCC is known for its love both inside and outside the Body, and for its quiet humility and its dedication to the Truth.

    Certainly, I don't think that it falls within the cross hairs of this recent post, even though their is always room for growth:

    Personally, a passion for humility in all things, a genuine love for Christ's people and an unwavering committment to the truth are the key attributes I look for in a church.

    Our local fellowship is called Harvest Bible Chapel in Carson City, Nevada.

    It's a new church plant - we started last May with a launch team of about 50 (including kids) VERY committed Christians meeting in the pastor's home where we met to worship, pray fervently together for our community and disciple leaders for various ministries (children's and small groups). In September we rented a facility and opened services up to the public.

    God is blessing this work in a place that has been traditionally very difficult for solid Biblical teachers.

    Our mission statement is 4 fold:

    1.Proclaiming the authority of God’s Word without apology
    2. Lifting high the name of Jesus through worship
    3. Believing firmly in the power of prayer
    4.Sharing the good news of Jesus with boldness


    Highest attribute is the proclaiming of the Word of God with boldness with much love - coupled with prayer. We hold to the doctrines of grace.
