If God Blessed America (What Would He Do?)

Ever since that September day
All you see are signs that say
God Bless America
No one stops to realize
Or takes the time to analyze
It’s just God bless America

You hear it on everybody’s lips
No one stops to think – just out it slips
God Bless America
Do people even think at all?
Or is it just some empty call
God Bless America

If God were to bless America
Just what would he do?
Would he send angels from heaven?
Waving the red, white, and blue?
Do you really think we deserve
Anything the way we are today?
If God were to bless America
Just what would he say?

Would God wink at all our sin?
And say forget it my friend?
God bless America
Holiness and righteousness
Are the things that God will bless?
God Bless America

Will America fall on her face?
Will she repent from her disgrace?
God Bless America
Do we think that God won’t care?
Or do we just wave flags everywhere
God bless America

If God were to bless America

    I read this with a lump in my throat Gregg for three reasons,
    (1)That it should never had happened at all, what sort of evil people are there around?
    (2)That particular date (not year)was the anniversary of my husband's passing.
    (3)Whilst in New York I visited Ground Force and it was so eerrie to say the least, but glad I went all the same.
