How Do You Explain Sin?

"Original sin is the only rational solution of the undeniable fact of the deep, universal and early manifested sinfulness of men in all ages, of every class, and in every part of the world."

  1. Just read something on why the "young earth" theory is the only one that works:

Makes perfect sense to me. Why couldn't He do it in six normal sunrise and sunset days? Nothing is impossible to God.

It is all true, or we are all doomed... God promised that He is the only one who is true and every man is a liar.

  2. Our society continues to believe that the answer to all our problems (sins) is more education and/or money!
How then do they explain the educated rich of Manhattan with 5-6 deadbolts on their apartment doors while in some rural areas of our country with far less educated and wealthy individuals doors are often left unlocked?

  3. Sorry for the previous comment...it didn't come out the way I had intended, I must have been very tired yesterday.

The link discusses the fact that the "old earth theory" dismantles everything the Bible says about sin, about death entering in when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, about the Garden of Eden, etc, and changes it all into just being an allegory, instead of factual events.

The fact that we sin, and that we know about "good and evil" is a testimony to the truth of the Genesis account. I hold to the "young earth theory" that God created the earth in 6 literal days "and the evening and the morning were the first day"...I think that was included to establish that fact.

It seems to me that the devil wants us to doubt the little things which are foundational, saying that we "believe in God" but then say the Bible is not exactly right in one way or another chips which away at the truth, and in turn dismantles the truth about our subsequently flimsy faith. Darwin did some of the devil's best work.

  4. Susan - Yes. I don't think Satan has a problem with a little truth mixed with a little error. Chip away at some foundational truths and you destroy the need of a Savior.

RLR - They can't explain it. The just keep denying sin and adding more dead-bolts to their doors.
