Add These to Your Prayer List in 2013

As I read my daily reading today (Revelation 22:12-21) I was reminded that the last “prayer” in God’s Word is, “Come, Lord Jesus…” (Rev 22:20). The Apostle Peter reminds us that we are to be, “…waiting for and hastening the coming day of God.” (II Peter 3:12, ESV)

Operation World suggests four (4) prayer requests for believers to pray relating to the topic of the Lord’s return as 2012 comes to an end. I, however, have determined to make these four (4) requests an on-going prayer throughout 2013. Allow me, if you please, to encourage you to make these four (4) requests your prayer requests as your wait for the coming of the day of God:

  • The speediest possible (biblically based) evangelization of the world, including unreached people groups, areas, cities, and nations.

  • The Great Commission to be restored to its rightful centrality in the ministry of the Church worldwide

  • Your part in achieving this great commission and evangelization of the world. (What is God’s will for your life? In the coming year, are you willing to do whatever He commands regarding the needs of the world? Is it possible God is calling you to a specific ministry in praying, giving, or going to the ends of the earth for your Master?)

  • Your local church’s part. Pray that your fellowship may grow in missionary zeal and commitment in the coming year.
