Sleep: A Formidable Instructor, Part I

I can't seem to get enough lately:) Sleep is a gift, I never thought of it that way.
ReplyDeleteSleep and I don't see eye to eye at the momnet, whether it's the problems I have/had but I have a holiday coming up in 2 weeks in your wonderful country, so who knows away from it all I may sleep better.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Interesting that you bring up sleep, Gregg...I've been awakening pretty regularly at between 3-4am (the way my work shifts go I sleep from about 11pm to 8am), have heard many others doing heavy wrestling in the spirit at about that time of the morning, in their sleep cycle. I used to sleep like a rock but not lately...
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about sleep diminishing our greed and anxiety...when I am well rested it does seem like I'm less concerned about what might have been troubling me the previous day(s). Thank you for your thought-provoking post. :)
I've been on the wrong side from both sides of this issue, (too little and too much sleep) and you hit the nail on the head here. Very thoughtful and though provoking post, Bro. Gregg, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSleep is a strange function of the mind and body, when you think about lying for hours unconscious for rest and rejuvenation. Who doesn't enjoy a good night's sleep or a nice nap?! Thank you Lord for time to "sleep".
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this gift from God tonight.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Gregg. I was just thinking about this very thing: "When we sleep we are forced to cease trusting in ourselves and our abilities and trust God. We are driven by our need of sleep to recognize that we have limitations." as I was falling asleep just a couple of nights ago. How great is our God to watch over us while we are sleeping! Why do we start worrying at our waking? The same God still watches over us! Blessings!
