X is for Xanthikos


Xanthikos


Xanthicus (zan thi kes) is the Greek name on the ancient Greek calendar for the month that corresponds to the Hebrew month of Nisan. Nisan corresponds to our Gregorian calendar month of March/April. Xanthicus had 31 days.

  4. I wonder if the ancient Greeks celebrated Xanthicus Fools Day? Surly there must have been a few fools around in the old days :-)

  6. Wonderful! I have always wanted to learn about the ancient calendar. I've always been told that Jesus was really born in our month of September. Is that true Gregg?
