I really like that. I've been pondering about picking up his book Respectable Sins. (I hope that is the right title.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good book, loved the post Gregg,
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Gregg, your comment box must not like me anymore! I tried several times to post a comment and it would not post? I even tried using a different browser. I've posted about 30 comments to other blogs today with out a problem?
ReplyDeleteHere was my comment for your post today:
Ephesians 1:3-6 tells us God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
~Ron
Thank you Gregg for this thought provoking post. My goal is to become more and more like my Lord and Savior, but for me this is a slow and sometimes painful journey. But in the end, when the Lord decides that it is time for me to go home, then I will be one in Christ and He will be one in me. Blessings my brother. Lloyd
ReplyDeleteSame point I was trying to make the other day, Gregg. Just not as succinctly or clearly. To walk as Jesus walked is the goal.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if totally agree with Mr. Bridges. Godly men and women can and should be people we pattern our lives after as they follow Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:1 - Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

BTW, this comment box works great :-)
Gregg, I totally agree with your post. Unfortunately, because the culture of the church is followed instead of the culture of the Kingdom many can be led astray.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bridges - it is all about character. I think that he might be talking about the unwritten holiness rules that many religious groups have - like not doing this or that.. these things usually have absolutely nothing to do with character and usually lead to dark self-righteous places.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote!
