Without Him and Yet In Him

Without Him and Yet In Him

Gregg Metcalf
August 25, 2010

Without Him, I stand far off, as a stranger, as an outcast;
Yet in Him I draw near and touch his kingly scepter fast.
Without Him, I dare not lift up my guilty eyes;
Yet in Him I gaze upon my Father-God and realize;
Without Him, I hid my lips in trembling shame
Yet in Him I open my mouth praising His name.
Without Him, all is wrath and consuming fire;
Yet in Him all is love as He forsakes His ire.
Without Him, reminds me of hell below with pain;
Yet in Him all heaven has been promised as my gain.
Without Him, darkness spreads its horrors to my view
Yet in Him, an eternity of glory awaits beyond the blue.
Without Him, everything within me is terror and dismay;
Yet in Him, I am promised peace and joy along my way.
Without Him, all things call for my condemnation;
Yet in Him is ministered all comfort and salvation.
Without Him there is nothing but death and pain to face;
Yet in Him all praise be lauded for the riches of his grace.

  5. What a contrast! It's the difference between heaven and hell, literally. Thank you for sharing this, brother.
