No More Bull Live Ilustrated Service

No More Bull, Illustrated Rodeo Sermon Extravaganza!

"I think they should tax churches. Most churches are amusement centers anyhow. And you have to pay taxes on amusement." - Leonard Ravenhill

I found this disqusting advertisment or commercial for a church in Nashville, TN on The Museum of Idolartry website and thought I would share it with you. As a pastor and a Christian gentleman, I apologize to those who have been burned, hurt, or otherwise abused by these so called churches and pastors. It makes me dirty and I need to go take a shower.

  1. Enjoyed the video, perhaps when I get to Nashville next year I may see a rodeo.

    Have a peaceful Sunday.

  2. Pragmatism is the standard operating procedure for many pastors and church leaders.

Does the End Justify the Means?
Shall We Do Evil that Good May Come?

The false god of entertainment is worshiped in a large percentage of our modern day churches.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  3. This is so sad. OG already quoted the verses that immediately came to my mind.

I think R.C. Sproul said that the fact that churches resort to such methods to draw people shows they do not believe that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

  4. Welcome to My World of Poetry - hope you really enjoy Nashville. I have a couple of times.

OG - you are right on, I couldn't have said it better, thank you. Sadly the scripture you quoted says it all.

PM - You and R. C. are correct. Peopel really do not believe in the power of the gospel unto salvation. Thanks for commenting! It is sad, I haven't put something like up before, but this was just beyond my thinking. Bull riding and fireworks inside of a sanctuary that is suppose to be an area set aside to give the proper respect due to a holy and righteous God.
