Frequently Asked Questions?

This seems to be an easy post to write today. In a previous post called, “I Need Your Help,” I thought I would try something new on Fridays. I thought I would try the format for May and June and see if there was any interest in the new format.

I thought I would receive questions about the bible, doctrine, biblical principles, or biblical matters in general and that I would answer them. I thought it might be an interesting way to get a discussion going that day. Alas, no questions came in this week so there is nothing to answer!

I had hoped that questions would come in through comments on my blog or the email address in my profile. However, Ron from “The Old Geezer’s Blog” suggested I get a gmail email account and post a notice on the side bar of my blog. Since I thought it was a good idea, I took at an email address: askpastorgregg@gmail.com.

Those questions that come in this week, I will answer in order of their receipt from a literal, grammatical, historical, and contextual system of hermeneutics. In other words any answer will not be my personal opinion, a “denominational” perspective, or any church ideology.

Your questions will be researched thoroughly, prayed over, and answered from the art and science of biblical interpretation. Remember, Peter stated emphatically:

“Knowing this first of all that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (II Peter 1:20-21, ESV)

If no questions come in this week then I will take that as from God that this is neither the time nor place for this opportunity. I will come up with another idea for Friday’s.

I have incorporated two suggestions from Eddie Eddings of Calvinistic Cartoons. I am leaving Saturday’s format open for any variety of things that come along. Monday’s I am going to take you along the journey as “Partners in Planting” as I attempt to begin a bible study which I hope to see grow into a new church plant.

So thank you both, Ron and Eddie Eddings! And thank all of you who read this blog and make comments, God bless you!

I've got a few, so I'll get them in order and try out your new email. I think this will be an awesome idea for the blog.
