Every day the ways of the world try his faith. Faith also goes along with love which leads to God's purpose for the scriptures, to give us guidance and direction, to allow us to grow more like Christ in our thoughts, actions and deeds.IanHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15874490886311041312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930553747640588156.post-34739751462581726752010-11-22T18:58:18.141-08:002010-11-22T18:58:18.141-08:00Since being a believer to me would entail having f...Since being a believer to me would entail having faith, being saved thru Jesus Christ, and being in communion with the Holy Spirit; I would also go with the Word of God since it is like the instruction manual and provides the reference to inform, the guidance to direct, and the support to seek comfort.

Lee
Tossing It OutArlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930553747640588156.post-43658789874690138382010-11-22T16:36:41.489-08:002010-11-22T16:36:41.489-08:00The believers greatest need is to have the Holy Sp...The believers greatest need is to have the Holy Spirit. This allows us to know God and to most aptly apply that knowledge. Without the Holy Spirit to guide us, we are so apt to be blown about by any wind of theology. The problem is the average believer does not know why they need the gospel or how to appropriate it for their growth. Come back tomorrow and read tomorrow's post and see if we are close to saying the same thing. Thanks for reading and commenting, it means a lot to me.

Persis - thanks for commenting. Please see my reply to Mike and check back tomorrow.

JD Curtis - We all could have written a list a mile long. Humility is absolutely a great need. I work on that all the time. Your opinion is great! Come back tomorrow and see if we are on the same page. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Yvonne - It is a good question. Come back tomorrow and see the answer. Thanks for reading and commenting, you are also so kind and so consistent! Thanks.

Kansas Bob - Not bad. That certainly is a great goal, command, duty, direction - but not what I was thinking. Could be the same with some tweaking. Come back tomorrow and see what the answer is. Thanks for reading and commenting. It may sound trite, but the gospel is not just for "getting saved". The gospel is for the Christian couple stuggling with divorce; it's for the Christian teenager contemplating suicide; it's for the Christian in the midst of a crisis of faith; it's for the Christian alcoholic, the Christian spouse abuser, the Christian addict. We need the gospel!Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08334880347109220874noreply@blogger.com
