Sometimes what we think we need now is not what we really need in the bigger picture of our life. If we are just watching our feet as we go we may be meandering all over the path, but if we intently focus on God's way we will move forward with determination and purpose.
Thanks for making us think and dwell upon God's word.

Lee
Tossing It OutArlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930553747640588156.post-29996790617803549992010-10-20T20:57:01.507-07:002010-10-20T20:57:01.507-07:00Faith is like a muscle that must be exercised regu...Faith is like a muscle that must be exercised regularly or it will atrophy. People do the same with the idea of God giving you the desires of your heart (Ps. 37:4) while missing what truly delighting yourself in the Lord entails. Thanks for the reminder.

And thanks to the Old Geezer for pulling out MY favorite verse. That one is in my mind every single Sunday as I preach. I know I'm worthless, but His Word is powerful, and our Sovereign King will accomplish His purpose. He would say "our job is to plant seeds and share the Gospel even if we ever see any results this side of heaven". Just share The Word and Trust God for the results.

Then he would quote Isaiah 55:11, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930553747640588156.post-76194600090679829162010-10-20T05:27:32.761-07:002010-10-20T05:27:32.761-07:00Ditto "trusting God rather than trusting your...Ditto "trusting God rather than trusting yourself" for me.

Always loves how the verse speaks of trusting with our heart (or inner man) and not our own understanding (or head). So much of modern day Christianity seems to be geared at appealing to our heads. Obedience is a thing of the heart.. it is knowing (not rationalizing) what to do and then doing it.

Good stuff Gregg!kc bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17440862813109808755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7930553747640588156.post-20762322973909288462010-10-20T04:02:17.711-07:002010-10-20T04:02:17.711-07:00Excellant post.
